Coping With Suicidal Thoughts

Warning signs:

– Someone talking about feeling hopeless and that life is not worth living
– Someone saying that friends and family would be better off without them
– Someone looking into methods or the means to end their own life
– Someone talking about death and plans to take their own life
– Someone putting all their affairs in order and seeming to be preparing to die
– Someone giving away prized possessions and saying goodbye to loved ones
– Someone saying that they can hear voices telling them to end their own life

Counselling can help to:

– Cope with stress and mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety etc
– Make sense of past traumatic experiences
– Improve the way you relate to those around you and allow you to break free from old patterns of behaviour
– Separate your true personality from the mood swings caused by your illness
– Identify triggers that may worsen your symptoms
– Improve relationships with family and friends
– Develop a plan for coping with crisis
– Understand why things bother you and what you can do about them

If you’re feeling like you want to die, it’s important to tell someone.
