How To Beat Blue Monday ?

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic people have been feeling a lot more ‘blue’ recently. But did you know that every year, the third Monday of January is dubbed “Blue Monday?” It came about after Dr Cliff Arnall was asked to work out the most depressing day of the year. It is calculated using a series of factors in a (not particularly scientific) mathematical formula.

W = Weather
D = Debt
d = Monthly Salary
T = Time Since Christmas
Q = Time Since Failing Our New Year’s Resolutions
M = Low Motivational Levels
Na = The Feeling Of A Need To Take Action

Arnall has since confessed that the formula is essentially pseudoscience and has urged Brits to “refute the whole notion” of Blue Monday. It was originally conceived by a PR company but has now become an annual event.
