How To Beat Blue Monday ๐ŸŒ

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic people have been feeling a lot more ‘blue’ recently. But did you know that every year, the third Monday of January is dubbed โ€œBlue Monday?” It came about after Dr Cliff Arnall was asked to work out the most depressing day of the year. It is calculated using a series of factors in a (not particularly scientific) mathematical formula.

W = Weather
D = Debt
d = Monthly Salary
T = Time Since Christmas
Q = Time Since Failing Our New Year’s Resolutions
M = Low Motivational Levels
Na = The Feeling Of A Need To Take Action

Arnall has since confessed that the formula is essentially pseudoscience and has urged Brits to โ€œrefute the whole notionโ€ of Blue Monday. It was originally conceived by a PR company but has now become an annual event.
