Dealing with emotional pain is extremely difficult, especially in a time when lots of people are feeling uncertain about their future.
Learning how to cope and heal from this pain in a healthy way can be even harder. Emotional pain can come from many circumstances such as grief, loss, trauma, stress or toxic relationships. Developing good coping skills is really essential to the process of healing.

Despite our best suicide prevention research and programming, suicide rates continue to rise. An often overlooked predictor of suicide is emotional pain. Dr. Jennifer Wright-Berryman contends that communities can do a great deal to address emotional pain before it reaches despair and suicide, and that it is going to take an every citizen approach. Dr. Wright-Berryman presents four steps that all community members can take to address emotional pain.
