YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY 2020 ?
This year will be focused on building resilience with the theme ‘Bounce Not Break’. The campaign focuses on the need to understand that anyone, however successful or seemingly popular, or funny, can face struggles with mental health, but that you can ‘bounce not break’ by finding strategies that help you cope.
What is resilience?
Everyone faces challenges in life. However, resilience is the positive way in which we adapt to these challenges to overcome them.
Resilience is not about ignoring our emotions or pretending to be okay in hard times. Instead, it gives us the ability to identify when we are feeling anxious, upset or sad and helps us understand how to express and manage these emotions. Through learning resilience and understanding how to ‘bounce not break’, we can learn from failures, setbacks and hardships and have a happier future.
