The Prime Minister announced on November 5th that the whole country would be going into lockdown 2.0 until December 2nd.

It’s Alcohol Awareness Week, running from 16-22 November 2020 on the theme of Alcohol and mental health. It’s a week of awareness-raising, campaigning for change, and more.

This Alcohol Awareness Week we’re talking about the issues and sharing information and advice on the best ways to look after ourselves and those we love during this difficult time”.

Some alarming statistics:

5 IN 10
Over half of drinkers (53%) said they have drunk alcohol for a mental health reason

1 IN 3
1 in 3 drinkers (29%) have been drinking at increasing or high risk levels

4 IN 10
Drinking worsened mental wellbeing for 4 in 10 drinkers (44%)
