ADHD Clinician

Contract  |  CAMHS Professionals  |  Nationwide  |

ADHD is one of the most in-demand specialisms right now. If you’ve got the skills, we’ve got the contracts.

CAMHS Professionals are specialist mental health recruiters, and we’re always on the lookout for experienced ADHD Clinicians to join our nationwide network on a contract basis. Whether you assess, treat, or manage ADHD across child or adult populations — we want to hear from you.

What the role actually looks like

  • CAMHS ADHD assessment and treatment clinics
  • Adult ADHD community services
  • Right to Choose ADHD providers
  • Neurodevelopmental services
  • Independent ADHD assessment and prescribing clinics

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting ADHD assessments using validated tools and structured clinical interviews across child and/or adult populations
  • Gathering multi-informant data from patients, families, carers, and schools
  • Contributing to diagnostic formulations within an MDT framework
  • Managing medication initiation, titration, monitoring, and review in line with NICE guidelines
  • Providing psychoeducation and coaching support to individuals with ADHD and their families
  • Producing clear, high-quality written assessment reports and clinical correspondence
  • Supporting patients through post-diagnostic pathways and onward referral where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
  • Participating in MDT meetings, clinical supervision, and audit

What we need from you —

Essential:

  • Relevant professional registration (NMC, GMC, HCPC, or equivalent) — we welcome clinicians from nursing, psychiatry, and psychology backgrounds
  • Demonstrable experience in ADHD assessment and/or treatment
  • Familiarity with validated ADHD assessment tools (e.g. Conners, DIVA, SNAP-IV, CAARS, QbTest)
  • Strong written communication skills for report writing and clinical correspondence
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
  • Up-to-date mandatory training including safeguarding at the appropriate level
  • Working knowledge of NICE ADHD guidelines

Desirable (but not always required):

  • Prescribing qualification or experience working within a prescribing pathway
  • Experience across both child and adult ADHD populations
  • Competency in co-occurring neurodevelopmental presentations (ASD, DCD, anxiety)
  • Experience with Right to Choose or independent ADHD services
  • Supervisory or mentorship experience

What you’ll get from us:

  • Contract rates that are genuinely competitive — no vague promises
  • Flexible contract lengths — short, long, rolling, you decide
  • One dedicated consultant who specialises in your field — not a generalist with a list
  • Fast, hassle-free compliance and onboarding
  • Access to contracts not advertised on the general job boards
  • Real ongoing support throughout your placement — not just at the start
