CAMHS Triage Mental Health Nurse – Band 6 and 7

CAMHS Professionals are currently recruiting for full-time/part-time CAMHS Practitioners on a locum basis, 3 months contracts offered with the view to extend.


About the position: 
This position will be working within the NHS.

This role includes:

  • Telephone, virtual online and face to face triage assessments
  • Undertaking rapid triage and assessment for all referrals
  • No case-holding
  • Offering urgent appointments for those at risk

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A BSc (Hons) degree in mental health nursing
  • Experience: 1+ years CAMHS triage/SPA/crisis experience within CAMHS in the UK
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the update service, current NMC pin, references to cover last 3 years, immunisation history, indemnity insurance, mandatory trainings, right to work in UK etc
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking comprehensive and holistic CAMHS assessments over the telephone, online and face to face
  • Providing high quality telephone triage for patients referred into secondary services
  • Ensuring the most relevant care pathway and care plan is devised to provide access to urgent and crisis care
  • Providing applicable care while helping to reduce the waiting time for appropriate face to face assessments within the Trust and also to decrease the number of unnecessary presentations to A&E
  • Advocating for young people using the services
  • Providing supervision for junior staff
