CAMHS Professionals are specialist mental health recruiters, and we’re always looking for experienced Registered Managers to join our nationwide network on a contract basis. If you have a track record of leading regulated mental health or social care services to a high standard — we want to hear from you. 

What the role actually looks like 

• CAMHS residential and inpatient services 

• Supported living services for young people and adults with mental health needs 

• Community mental health services 

• Crisis and step-down residential units 

• Independent mental health providers 

Day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

• Holding CQC (or equivalent) registration and taking overall responsibility for the quality and compliance of the service 

• Providing strong operational and strategic leadership to the service and its staff team 

• Ensuring the service meets all regulatory requirements, including CQC fundamental standards and relevant legislation 

• Leading on recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, and performance management of staff 

• Overseeing safeguarding processes, incident management, and risk escalation 

• Building and maintaining productive relationships with commissioners, inspectors, families, and external agencies 

• Managing budgets, resources, and contracts in line with organisational requirements 

• Leading on preparation for and management of CQC inspections 

• Driving a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and person-centred care 

• Maintaining accurate governance, reporting, and compliance documentation 

What we need from you —

Essential: 

• Current or previous CQC Registered Manager status (or equivalent regulatory registration) 

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) 

• Demonstrable experience managing a regulated mental health or social care service 

• Strong working knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding legislation, and the Mental Health Act 

• Proven leadership, staff management, and operational management skills 

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain) 

• Excellent communication skills — able to engage effectively at all levels including with commissioners and inspectors 

Desirable (but not always required): 

• Experience specifically within CAMHS, young people’s services, or specialist mental health 

• Track record of achieving Good or Outstanding CQC ratings 

• Experience turning around services rated Inadequate or Requires Improvement 

• Financial management and budgetary experience at service level 

• Degree-level qualification in health, social care, or a related field
